My name is Jonathan Horton, and I am the founder and owner of Metal Tree Gallery. I was born in North Carolina and traveled across the United States before making Arizona my home about 20 years ago. While I have experience as a musician and have pursued a degree in visual communications, I am currently a motorcycle technician and have focused in this field for the last 20 years. I enjoy working daily, repairing and servicing motorcycles for all Arizonians. I love working with my hands on an artistic level with my mechanical art.
While working in a field full of metal I began to fall in love with creating ways to manipulate and bring life to the recycled metal people were throwing away. This slowly sparked my interest in creating my own business that I now call Metal Tree Gallery. Since that spark, several years ago, I have focused on designing and creating art from all different kinds of recycled metal. With each piece I create, I attempt to further refine my skills as an artist. I welcome ideas from customers, as they can challenge me to think of projects in new and innovative ways. Each piece tells a story about the customer, which makes each one unique. Please check out my Metal Tree Gallery and let me know if any metal piece or idea speaks to you!
I've always enjoyed being able to explore and create an emotional link between someone's thoughts, and personal background, to a recycled metal art piece they can display somewhere meaningful. Each piece of art made from recycled metal contains a fragment of myself, and of that specific customer. I sometimes imagine patterns and stories from the different metal pieces I've created and I hope that one day these pieces can be used to tell a larger story.
